Spatial scaling of land use/land cover and ecosystem services across urban hierarchical levels: patterns and relationships

چکیده
Land use/land cover (LULC) patterns seriously affect ecosystem services (ESs), especially in highly developed urban agglomerations. Exploring how LULC and ESs change spatially across hierarchical levels understanding the possible mechanisms can promote sustainable planning of landscapes. By mapping spatial three largest agglomerations China, this study aimed to (1) identify scaling relations different levels, (2) explore these two types scaling, (3) examine relate policy implications. Based on LULC, we used Integrated Valuation Ecosystem Services Tradeoffs (InVEST) model other biophysical models quantify ES indicators. Then, scalograms were with respect changing extent. Developed land cropland exhibited most predictable responses Compared ESs, provisioning predictable. The at fell into general types: power laws city proper level exponential relationships metropolitan region agglomeration levels. both varied was closely related patterns. Integrating use help decision-makers formulate multi-scale landscape conservation strategies.

Monitoring and assessment of land use/land cover changes in Kashkan basin using futures studies approach in managing ecosystem services
Land use/cover change is one of the main factors in environmental changes. The changes directly affect the value of ecosystem services. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effect of land use/land cover change in the Kashkan area on its ecosystem services. This research was carried out in three stages, including the analysis of land cover changes, prediction of changes, and carbon st...
متن کاملMicroclimate land surface temperatures across urban land use/ land cover forms
Urbanization brings biophysical changes in the composition of the landscape. Such change has an impact on the thermal environment locally. The urban mosaic of land use and land cover is thus characteristically composed of local climate zones. The spatial variation in the land surface temperature across specific zone is studied for Bhopal city. The objective of the study was to understand how th...

Urban Land Cover and Land Use Classification Using High Spatial Resolution Images and Spatial Metrics
In this paper, the author evaluates the results of applying two evolving classification techniques, decision trees (DT) and artificial neural networks’ back-propagation (ANN-BP), to obtain land cover and land use classes from Quickbird XS data combined with spatial metrics, in a selected urban zone in Bogota, Colombia. In order to improve the quality of the land cover classification, additional...
متن کاملSpatial and Temporal Patterns of Land Cover Change
The goal of this work is to monitor urban growth and the drivers of urban expansion in Chengdu, China. Between 1978 and 2002, the municipal population increased from 8 to 10.2 million and GDP grew seven-fold, changes which have had profound impacts on land cover. To address these issues, this research involves two tasks. First, we monitor land cover change using a supervised, multi-date decisio...
